OUR INSPIRATION
Stoke & Rye by Chef Richard Sandoval is a modern American grill with a menu reflecting both the Colorado landscape and Chef Sandoval’s creative stylings. Dishes are genuine, time-honored, and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving, and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great foods. A Horrible Christmas Eve Experience! My son and I had a reservation for the restaurant at 8:00 PM on Christmas Eve. We decided to order the 52 oz Tomahawk since it had a table-side presentation. We ordered it medium well and were informed that it would take 30 minutes. After 65 minutes, a small table finally rolled to our table. We noticed there was a supposedly 40 oz piece of meat on the hot cutting board. When we asked about the Tomahawk steak, our waiter said they had run out. As he cut the thick piece of meat, it was burned on the outside due to the flame and completely raw inside. He tried to cut it into smaller pieces and cook them on the hot cutting board, but obviously, it didn’t work. He gave us a few small pieces, which were about rare to medium, and took the rest to the kitchen to cook. Fifteen minutes later, the meat came back burned on the outside and about medium to medium well on the inside, but it was very rubbery. Finally, the manager showed up, apologized, and offered a 50% discount on something that wasn’t worth a penny. The waiter was very apologetic, but the manager wasn’t as concerned as he should have been. He could have offered us another option, but unfortunately, he didn’t care enough to do that. So, I would give them a negative rating if there were one.

We have been to Stoke & Rye several times over the years. The service and the overall food were better and very enjoyable on this visit.

This was our third visit to Stoke and Rye and our second time being lucky enough to have Alex as our server. As always the food was great but having Alex as our server elevated the experience for our family. Looking forward to our next visit.

Pretty awesome restaurant located in Westin Avon. All the dishes we ordered were well prepared and very tasty! My picky little boy even loved his plate! Great view too!
