A contemporary take on the classic oyster bar, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near BAM, Barclay's, the Paramount, and Atlantic Terminal.

Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Our menu consists of regional seafood prepared in a variety of styles: Charbroiled Oysters and Shrimp Remoulade share the stage with classic seafood towers and Oysters Rockefeller. A rotating selection of larger plates features items such as Black Cod Almondine and Blackened Swordfish Belly.

To drink, Strange Delight updates old classics, serving both a Hurricane and Ramos Gin Fizz service for 2, alongside Martinis and Sazeracs. Our wine and beer lists feature our favorite American producers.

Please note:
We offer 3 distinct types of reservations:
Regular: a table in our back dining room
Bar: seats at our back dining room bar
High-top: a higher table with bar stools in our front room with an open kitchen and oyster counter.

So nice! We arrived 20 minutes late as Streetcar ran way long. i knew the kitchen was closing and was worried we would be out of luck. The woman (manager?) at the door was so nice. Sat us, took our order personally and i know her shift was over and we saw her leave when we were sitting. That was incredibly gracious, as was the server who took over. we shall definitely return next time we go to BAM - hopefully for a shorter play!!

Our favorite restaurant right now. The food is always delicious from the oysters (both raw and charbroiled) to the shrimp and fried oyster loafs, to the entrees. Wine selection is excellent as well. Service is always great and friendly.

The tables are too close to each other… it seems like everyone can hear every thing you say. Other than that, top mean I have had in a LONG time! Can’t wait to come back.
