Dagli editor di OpenTable: Originally from Torreon, Mexico, Eater Austin’s 2018 chef of the year and 2024 James Beard semifinalist Fermín Núñez celebrates his passion for handmade masa at Suerte. It’s the foundation for tacos, tostadas, and more stuffed with everything from duck carnitas to goat barbacoa and drizzled with a host of salsas. True to laidback Austin, it’s all served in a space with light woods and exposed brick walls alongside plenty of mezcal cocktails and natural wine.

From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and the staff eager for us to have a great experience. Our server (Kelly) walked us through the wine list and we chose a Mexican Cab based on her recommendations, especially since it wasn't a "traditional" flavor cab. What a delight! Her knowledge of the menu and flavors contributed to us making great choices: Ceviche, Brisket tacos, Carnitas, Sweet potatoes and a dessert that tickled every part of our taste buds! All the dishes were creative and with a flavor and ingredient profile that was unexpected but together created visual and edible pieces of flavorful art. The pace was perfect, giving us some time between our courses, as we didn't feel rushed or ignored. Other staff would clear our plates as we finished if they walked by, a key detail to attention. Kelly was the perfect server and we will be back!.

The food and cocktails here were great. Very fresh and flavorful Mexican cuisine. Service was very good as well. Very prompt and polite and even wished my wife happy birthday a few times. The energy in the room is very high and people were talking loud so it was hard to hear my wife across the table at times. This was a Wed night so surprised it was this loud. Overall a good experience though

Suadero tacos and ceviche were our favorites. Barabacoa was good with a large portion. Duck with mole was ok

Dining at Suerte is an absolute MUST when we're in town in Austin. There's always something that surprises us, and this time we were so impressed with yet more amazing dishes. The dish that got the most vote was the goat. Everyone loved it and we cannot wait to go back there again. Always a great experience, period.

The decorations, the lighting, the service staff, the food, the drinks. All of it was so amazing, great choice for an intimate birthday dinner. Our server was so knowledgeable and gave great recommendations, I loved the sound of a full restaurant. Everyone was very polite and helpful, the food was perfection. the tres leches was so perfect. 5 stars, 10/10, would come back everyday
