The Sunday lunch at The Henley is the best ever. The food is exceptional and the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our family love it there.

We have enjoyed the privilage of Sunday Lunches at "The Henley with from 4 to 15 people. On no occasion has there ever been any cause, other than to experience EXCEPTIONAL Food, Wine, Staff, service, and rooms with a view. Thank you "Henly", we will continue to visit, as often as possible. Margaret

Starter pate excellent. Beef disappointing as it was very dry and I ate very little, veg all excellent, pud acceptable but not special. Wine Good. This was my first visit, but I will not return.

Thank you for your valuable comments regarding your recent Sunday Lunch visit. We are sorry the beef was not up to our normal excellent standard. We believe the issue on this occasion was that the topside of beef was cut too thick and Chef has been advised of this. We had a lovely Mother’s Day with our 2 aging mums! Food and service were great! Thoroughly enjoyed by all!

The food was lovely, but not faultless and the service was dreadful. The bar staff seem very uninterested, unorganised and lacking in care. We ordered a couple of G&ts specifying which Gins we wanted and they poured the wrong gin. The starters came out, I had the goats cheese pastry, which was nice but was lacking in size. The mains were lovely, but we had one bowl of veg to share between 4 of us and we had to request more gravy. I had the chocolate cheese cake for desert, which wasn’t a cheese cake, more of a moose on top of a rock solid biscuit base, which wasn’t particularly nice. Neither was the cappuccino to follow. The “chocolates” with the coffee consisted of a singular chocolate which again was disappointing. We had vouchers between the 4 of us which entitled us all to the 3 courses and coffee and chocolates. However when the bill came they had charged us for the coffee and chocolates. We explained we had the vouchers, to which the manager rudely replied “you should have told us at the start that you had the vouchers” when in fact I had explained this when I had booked the table. We didn’t receive a full refund for the coffee and chocolates either which we were very disappointed about. We have been visiting the Henley for years now, quite regularly for Sunday dinner and in fact my sister and her husband got married there some years ago. Based on this experience we shan’t be returning in any hurry. It’s a real shame that standards have slipped lately. I think this due to a change in management

We are pleased you enjoyed the food on the whole. The mains are plated with veg, gravy and extra bowls of veg. More veg/gravy can be requested. Apologies the cheesecake was not to your liking. One voucher stated that coffee and chocolates were included and the other didn't, apologies for the confusion. Our supervisor is sorry if she came across as rude. Apologies your experience was not up to our usual standards. We would love to re-instate your confidence in us should you wish to visit again.

We enjoyed a delicious traditional Sunday lunch in the light and airy restaurant. Limited menu but all tastes catered for. Service was prompt and solicitous despite it being peak time. We shall return soon!
