Using local and seasonal ingredients is the most important element in Japanese cuisine. It also has become the primary principle for the international culinary community. With commitment to that philosophy, Tamura features sustainable seasonal ingredients of the Pacific Northwest in authentic Japanese preparation. Tamura is a Kappo style restaurant where food is prepared in an open kitchen and served quickly in a lively environment where staff and guests talk about the food and beyond. Our goal is to become the very best restaurant to our guests by getting to know them and serving them in a personable yet professional manner. *Please note that a 20% living wage charge is included (dine in only). The house retains 100% of these charges to help fund higher wages and benefits to all staff. Additional gratuity is not expected.

This was our first Omakase experience. First I’ll start with the two minor negatives- we were seated around the corner of the bar, which just didn’t feel as comfortable stuck up against the wall. The soup with mushrooms had a few small pieces of grit in it. The fish was incredible though- so fresh and perfectly seasoned. I don’t think I’ve ever had fish that good! Sushi will never be the same! The service was perfect. The chef was positive and friendly. Be prepared to shell out though- 3 people with 3 cocktails, hot tea and no dessert was $600! It was a special experience for us- and the birthday note on the bar was a nice touch.

We sat at the Sushi Bar and ordered the Omakase with the Sake Flight and EVERYTHING was amazing. The Sushi Chefs and servers are very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience and highly recommended.

This was the first time visiting for my wife and I, But it won’t be the last. The food was amazing as well as staff and service.

We had the omakase at the sushi bar. The rice was sticky and not the right temperature, so didn’t complement the fish well. The chef/owner seemed to be going through the motions but didn’t care about the craft. 20% service charge as well on the bill. For the price, it’s not worth it.

The overall experience was fantastic! Our server, sushi chef, and food were all outstanding and made the whole dinner a night to remember. Easily the best sushi I’ve ever had and the best omakase experience!!

Chef did a great job, food was fantastic. Service on drinks was a bit slow. Overall great and an amazing value.

My wife and I were visiting for the first time and chose to get the omakase service at the counter. It was a flawless experience. The chef told us the names and origins of all the seafood selections, and it was an honor to watch him prepare everything by hand. The meal was paced perfectly, and I would definitely go back again. I would have liked to have a bit more elbow room, as it felt slightly crowded in there.
