The Swan bar, restaurant & private dining rooms are located at Shakespeare's Globe on Bankside and have stunning River Thames and central London views.

The bar offers relaxed all-day dining, sharing plates and British classics such as fish and chips, alongside craft beers, small-batch London gins and tonics, seasonal cocktails and English sparkling wines. Upstairs, the elegant restaurant with panoramic views offers seasonal British a la carte dining, fine wines, theatrical afternoon tea, weekend brunch and a quintessentially British Sunday roast.

    Avevamo prenotato alle 21 Alle 20.54 ci hanno chiamato dicendoci che dovevamo essere al locale entro le 21.15 e che se volevamo mangiare dovevamo ordinare entro quell’ora perché la cucina chiudeva. Tutto questo a Londra, di venerdì sera. Sarebbe opportuno segnalare questi orari. Ovviamente abbiamo dovuto cambiare locale e trovare un nuovo posto per cenare.

    Locale adiacente al teatro, atmosfera carina e cibo molto discreto. Peccato non si possa neppure sbirciare il teatro.

    Posto molto bello con vista sul Tamigi e St. Paul Cathedral. Ambiente soft e raffinato. Cibo e servizio ottimi. Prezzo onesto. Ci tornerò sicuramente.

    Booked on the day, which was late, however contract was quick and easy. Arrived a little early bit seated anyway, nice atmosphere, good views good food, good service, well done all.

    It’s such a beautiful setting for afternoon tea. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and we had a lovely, memorable afternoon.

    I have eaten at the swan many times and have always found it fantastic. However, on my recent visit it was very poor. At first we had to wait for our table which I have no issue with. Yet, the receptionist quite rudely told us you’re too early come back later. I would have preferred an offer to sit at the bar. So I asked could we and got a curt reply of fine. No one came to get us when our table was ready and I had to ask twice. When we did get to our table after requesting a window table to our booking coinciding with a birthday. We were sat a fantastic table set for two when we two minutes later we were asked to move as the table was needed for a booking of four. We were then placed in a dark corner away from the window. The booking for four did not appear during our visit. The service was poor. With all the staff that was on the floor, it took three attempts to ask for dessert menu until we gave up and left. I’ve known staff to be very attentive on previous visits but we were very much left in our dark corner. The food was fine. Just about warm. Very disappointed from a regular diner.

    I had booked a table for 8 for 4.30 We arrived a little early (after the play had finished) but our table was not ready until 4.45 We ordered 5 Gentleman’s teas and 3 classic teas. The Gentlemen’s teas arrived promptly but the classic teas did not come until 15 minutes later. The staff did apologise & They knocked the service off our bill. The food was delicious and beautifully presented

    Our afternoon tea experience was very nice. However the staff had not checked the notes I sent when I booked, where I’d let them know we were celebrating a birthday and that we had a vegetarian in the group. I was a bit disappointed by this. The food could have been fresher - some of the sandwiches were soggy and the biscuits soft. The variety was excellent and the gentleman’s tea especially good. I would return to try another menu. The setting is stunning and I think that is the main draw.
