Welcome to Tahona! We are the first mezcal bar and tasting room in San Diego. In our restaurant, we invite you to taste our incredible craft cocktails and our amazing contemporary Mexican cuisine featuring Oaxacan bites. In our tasting room, we welcome you to indulge on a mezcal tasting experience!

We are located next one of the most iconic historical landmark: the Campo Santo Cemetery in Old Town. Inside Tahona, you will be transported to a modern Mexican hacienda designed with hand painted tiles, handmade rope seats, traditionally crafted fabric brought from Oaxaca, hand clayed walls and more.

We also have a cozy covered outdoor patio dining experience so you will have the choice to dine inside our hacienda or on the streets of Old Town!

A wonderful date night compliments of our Chef Adrian Villarreal. This is a 3 course meal for $95 for 2 people, with an array of appetizers to start your dinner, followed by your choice of 2 entrees, and finished with a wonderful dessert. This dinner also will include 2 of our made from scratch cocktails, beer, or wine! While dining at Tahona, you will have wonderful live music to set that atmosphere for a perfect date night!

The Dixeebe Mezcal project is rooted in gratitude, as the word Dixeebe itself means "to give thanks" in Zapotec. Charming restaurant and bar in old town. Sat at the friendly bar, and enjoyed a cocktail, and a flight of great mezcal along with Tacos, and house special guacamole and chips/salsas. All food was presented nicely and was fresh and delicious. Very fun place.

Food was just OK hit and miss. Servings were small which is fine but they lacked in flavor. Overall more let down with the food than pleased. Would not return with other options in the area equally priced but better tasting food.

It was my first visit and I will be back. The food was delicious. The cocktails amazing! And the band in the bar delightful!

I love going to Tahona. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience this time. The waiter forgot about our drink twice and was not paying attention to us. On the other hand, the food was delicious as always. But I did not have anything to drink while eating. It would be great to keep good service during weekends as well. The guac was 1000/10, their asada taco was amazing too! Hopefully, next time we’ll have a better experience!

Great location and fabulous service from host and server. It’s a tequila bar, so very limited and pricey wine selection for us non-tequila drinkers. Single tacos at a reasonable price are the menu highlight and it’s best to mix up your tacos for extra taste treats. Food was good, not great. The Bao Bun was the best! Server forgot to place my order, so when my tacos finally did arrive they were hot and fresh. Nice! We’ll def come back.

This restaurant is not to be missed if you are in San Diego. A wonderful mescal bar and the food is incredible. We had the vegetarian mole and the ahi tostada - OMG OMG SUCH FLAVOR!!! The ambience is wonderful and the weight staff are exceptional.
