Tarantelli’s is located on Second Street, just one block from Front Street and in walking distance to the Cape Fear River. The restaurant and event venue is located in the historic district of downtown Wilmington. This lively area spans 230-plus blocks and is home to some of the best bars, restaurants, churches, architecture, and selection of fine art. There are several parking facilities nearby, but you can also reach Tarantelli's year round via horse drawn trolley and carriage, river taxi, trolley cars, or on foot.

    The inspiration behind this restaurant was drawn from our grandfather, Anthony "Tony" Salvatore Tarantelli ("Papa") and our grandmother Mabel Tarantelli. Both Tony and Mabel believed that home cooked food brought family together. Our Papa's love for Italian food came from his father, Salvatore Tarantelli, who was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy in the province of L’Aquila. It is here that Tony began to appreciate Italian cuisine at its purest. Both Tony and Mabel were amazing cooks and deserve the credit for passing on many of our family recipes that we now have the pleasure and privilege to share with you.

    We enjoyed our time at Tarantelli’s. We ordered bruschetta that was very good a nice size to share. We also ordered their famous pasta made in a cheese wheel and that was a fun experience.

    The ambience was nice but felt a bit lacking. The service was great and our server was very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious, fresh, and servings were generous. Our new favorite Italian go-to.

    Tarantelli's is a 9.5 out of 10. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The Food is 10 out of 10 and you will not be able to finish the meal. One plate will feed two people. My only issue was waiter interaction. Some of the waiters are not engaging. When you need them to help or order something else its hard to find them also it seems that some of the waiters are not social interactive people. When working in food service you need individuals who are lively and engage to make the customer feel right at home.

    A favorite Wilmington restaurant! Lasagna and tiramisu were a hit highly recommend.

    Overall a good experience, we started with a couple of their signature cocktails. The food was a bit of a disappointment, but only because we had visited Caprice Bistro and Manna earlier in the week, so though comparison. Our appetizer dish the Cavoletti Di Bruxelles Con Pancetta E Burrata, was excellent. However our entrees were a mixed bag. My wife ordered the Pappardelle Al Funghi Porcini E Panna, and while the homemade pappardelle pasta was excellent, the cream sauce was overpowering. I ordered the Pasta e Verdure with risotto, and while the vegetables were cooked and seasoned perfectly, the risotto was dry.

    Our dinner started with our server Erica. She was excellent. Professional, timely, open and pleasant. The meals were great from the cheese wheel to the homemade pasta and calamari. Only minor thing to be aware of is the service charge for parties of 6 or more. It adds 15% to the bill automatically and then they ask for tips scaling up from 20%.
