                                                            Wonderful meal. We will be back. We usually stick to steak or italian restaurants, but decided to go outside our comfort zone. And we were very happy we did.

                                                            Every component in Mussaka was bland. The eggplant was raw. Beef gyro was also bland. Lamb Kebabs were ok, however it was obvious that they were pre cooked and then warmed up. Salmon was ok. Chicken was also okay but again it was pre cooked as it wasn’t tender but very hard to chew. Cost was shocking for poor quality food. We won’t be using OpenTable reviews going forward.

                                                            Tarla is one of very best Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay Area. The traditional dips of Hummus, Baba Ganoush, and Tzatziki, are fantastic and they buy the highest quality pita and grill it so it is warm and delicious. All of their entrees are superb. Their grilled Branzino is perfect. My favorite thing is their Turkish meatballs that are grilled and served with fried potatoes and fried kale. To my mind this is the best way to eat kale. It is transformed into a delicious crispy crunch. The staff is very friendly and professional. The Chef is a woman who often circulates in the dining room. It is a wonderful dining experience. Full bar and excellent wine list.

                                                            Delicious Mediterranean food. Service spotty. Had to remind waitress about be verages ordered and we waited 15 minutes after being seated for our order to be taken, after needing to flag down our waitress.

                                                            Short ribs were fabulous, but for those kind of prices, I expect much better service. Arrived with my date earlier than our reservation time on a rainy Sunday evening and the restaurant was half-empty, so didn't think it would be a problem. They sat us and tossed some menus on the table and then ignored us. We finally had to ask someone to come over so we could start with cocktails. Waiter didn't describe any specialty cocktails. The whole ordering felt rushed like he had someplace better to be. We get the cocktails and already he's grilling us asking what we want from the menu, like he wants to turn the table quickly. We want to chat and enjoy the cocktail. No discussion of specials that day. He seemed very nervous about items on the menu. Meanwhile, the group of 4 at the next table was getting the red carpet treatment. We both order the short ribs and it arrives less than 10 minutes later, while we are still just enjoying the cocktail. He doesn't even ask if we want wine with the entree, which we did, but we are still working on the first half of the cocktail. If he checked in while we were eating the meal, I don't remember. He cleared the plates away and didn't even ask us about dessert, but we were so annoyed by that point, we would not have stayed. We wanted that wine we didn't get with dinner, so we left the restaurant and walked in the rain to the bar at the Archer hotel. I've had better service at Denny's. Why are the couples dining the poor stepchildren of the fine dining world? Waitstaff need to be trained on the pacing of a meal.

                                                            The food, as usual, was fantastic. The Trio Dip is just some of the best humus, tzatziki, and babaganoush. It is, literally, the best babaganoush we’ve ever had.
