   The dinner and service were outstanding. It was a Wednesday evening and it was very quiet but then we were the only ones there at 7pm.

   The food is consistently exceptional and this experience was no different! Our favorite dish is the lamb chop which is always seasoned and cooked to perfection. The wine list is also interesting and it's fun to experiment with new wines. The only complaint we have is that their freshly baked bread is not complimentary nor are traditional salads available. One can order bread with a special dip (for a separate charge) and there are braised vegetables on the menu so these are good substitutions.

   Taverna Khione is our favorite restaurant in The midcoast area and one of our favorites in Maine! We love how their menu changes often and every dish we’ve had has been delicious.

   Taverna khione was a nice restaurant with good food. However, I have never been to a restaurant where when asked to split the check and told we don't do that here, well they lost me as a client. I understand when a client asks to have something changed in their plate, or asks for extras and the response is we are not able to do that. But a simple request to give to separate checks and told no, well that's not very good customer service. They obviously have enough customers to make money, so they don't need me.

   A true gem off the beaten path. Quality items, thoughtfully created and beautifully presented. The wine list could intimidate if not familiar with Grecian vintners, but recommendations were spot on.

   We shared a delicious roasted lamb shank with orzo in a tasty tomato sauce. A perfect dish for a cold February evening. I also had a very good taramasalata appetizer. Our waitress, was just terrific and very cordial, and was quite helpful in providing both of us with a taste of a couple of wines to settle on what we’d like to have. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

    The four of us ate appetizers and dessert, no entree. Everything was authentically Greek (we know and love Greek food) and delicious!! Our waitress was terrific-- friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We especially enjoyed the lamb meatballs with pine nuts and aromatics! We'll be back!! Outstanding!
