Tavira is a classy and sophisticated restaurant that specializes in Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant's interior features a spacious, open dining room with warm colors and white linen tablecloths over round tables. Tavira has been serving the area since 1999. It's a great destination for a romantic date or an intimate dinner with family and close friends. Begin the meal with a classic appetizer like fresh clams with olive oil and white wine, stuffed ravioli with ricotta cheese and tomato cream sauce or sautéed shrimp in white wine and garlic. For the main course at Tavira, choose from a variety of pasta, meat and seafood dishes. Options include penne pasta with sundried tomatoes, olives, artichokes, peppers, roasted garlic and basil oil, fresh calf liver steak with caramelized onions, bacon and aged red wine vinaigrette and grilled rainbow trout served with lemon butter sauce and vegetables.

                                                                  The food was delicious and unusual, the waiters very efficient and courteous, the environment conducive to conversation, but the tablecloths left lint all over our clothes! That needs changing.

                                                                  We keep going back because the food never disappoints. The specials are particular stand-outs so listen to the list carefully. Check for the schedule of music; we were treated to a guitar duo on one Saturday night who were fabulous. Parking is easy and the ability to have a conversation with your dining companions is a huge plus.
