Tempest has been named the country’s #1 new restaurant by readers of USA Today’s travel guide, 10Best. Located on historic Market Street next to sister location, Church and Union Charleston.                                             We arrived late into town due to an hour long traffic hazard delay and we’re worried about getting a reservation to a great restaurant. We were able to dine at Tempest and it was incredible! We had the tuna crude which was very good but the showstopper was the Swordfish Schnitzel with warm tartar sauce with trout roe. I/we are known as foodies-originally from California Bay Area! My husband said this was by far the best swordfish he had ever eaten! I agreed but was trying to identify the ingredients to prepare at home. We shared a bottle of wine and had the Some-More for dessert. Fabulous! Our server Dalton and his shadowing trainee, Megan were amazing as well! Truly a beautiful restaurant and amazing experience!, Do not miss it when in Charleston!

                                            We were upstairs and it was so loud you couldn’t have a conversation. Three large parties were seated upstairs and they shouldn’t have seared anyone else up there. We literally had to shout. An older couple near us got up and left

                                            We told them it was our anniversary and they brought out champagne ($5 charge) and at the end they did a complimentary carnation and brandy tasting. It was the perfect spot for celebrating our anniversary. We also enjoyed signing the tempest book our check was brought in! It really commemorated the moment.

                                            Enjoyed the prix fixe Thanksgiving menu at the Tempest. Service was excellent, courteous and quick. There was a long wait at the restaurants next door and that was for people with reservations. Tempest did an outstanding job of getting people their delicious 3 course turkey dinner on a very busy night. We sat on an outside table with our dog.
