We have been dining at this restaurant since they opened! We typically make reservations for dinner before the Broadway series shows each season. Tonight was no exception. We were seated quickly and our server took our very simple order of chips and salsa, each a margarita and the pozole! The pozole was brought out even before the chips and salsa or our drink! It was barely warm! We expect soup to be hot! It doesn't have to be scalding hot but tonight it could not even be considered warm! We debated whether to say anything to the server but it didn't matter because he didn't bother checking on us! So, we ate the soup, which tasted great so that wasn't an issue. But, for the server not to check so we could have made a decision whether to send it back or not and when he finally did stop by and we expressed our disappointment, his comment was "his bad"! Gee, really your bad! So, we won't be going to the restaurant across from Mayahuel in the future!

We had an early dinner , shortly after 5PM. The restaurant was already quite busy and noisy. The ambience is not appealing. This is not a place for a romantic dinner, it is suitable for a quick Mexican meal. The service was pleasant. However, we had not finished our soups before the main courses appeared, all in the space of about 20 or 25 minutes. It felt as if we were rushed, perhaps so that they could turn over the table for another service. It was too quick. Despite those issues, the food was very good. My cream of poblano soup was delicious, as was my wife's carrot soup that used some acid to balance the sweetness of the carrots. My Exhibition of Mexico enchiladas came with moles and a pipian sauce that added some unusual flavors that I enjoyed. We had 3 house chardonnays, two soups, and two enchiladas plates. the bill with a tip and mandatory kitchen surcharge of 3.5% came to $140. I did not consider that to be good value for a rushed meal in a noisy, fairly basic room.

Really good meal at Tequila Museo Mayahuel. My wife and I shared a starter, small plate, large dish (entree), and dessert. All of the food was excellent - chipotle almond dip with chips; dobladitas de Chile poblano; arrachera Mexicana con enchilada; and Imposible. Perfect size, flavor, and presentation on all of them, even the minor details such as the rice and beans that come with the main dish. Service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing. The only "negative" for us that it was extremely loud - we prefer a quieter atmosphere, but it was noisy throughout (mainly just a lot of talking from other tables, but it carries and bounces around). We will definitely go back, the food and service absolutely merit it.

Love this place! And love mariachi muaic bit this time was way too loud! Could not engage in comfortable conversation.

Had the mole, the mole was great the chicken was over cooked mushy and had no flavor. The Pablano soup was great, the pozole salad had good flavor but was swimming in dressing.

I’m glad we had a reservation. The place was packed with a line out the door. We were seated promptly but the service was slow. The waited kept apologizing for the drinks and food taking so long. One it arrived our meal was good. I would go back.

We went for a date night to have drinks and they were decent. We grabbed the mango cake and it was not fresh at all it was so bland and tasted like store bought that has been out for some time.

The food and the service was great. I loved the mango cocktail. I want to come back just for that alone! I’m from Southern California and want to come back to Sacramento just for this restaurant!
