   Chip and Fish Dips was mostly favorless. Anchovy on toast with edamame paste, was not very good. Toast was too thick and hard, paste had no taste. Salmon for the salmon dish had little taste and the mango sauce did not have much taste as well. The place is trendy and that is it. Buy the hype and not the food.

   I’ve been wanting to go to Anchovy Bar for a while and have to say it did not disappoint. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, flavors balanced and creative. The anchovy edamame toast was divine! Overall a fun place, great service and exceptional food!

   My recent visit to Anchovy Bar exceeded all expectations, making for a truly memorable date night. From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly and attentive, setting the tone for a relaxed yet high-quality dining experience. The food was the true star of the evening. The anchovy-edamame toast was a surprising treat, with the flavors melding together perfectly. The broiled oysters with bacon were rich, savory, and absolutely irresistible. And let’s not forget the crab tomato casarecce—it was nothing short of amazing, offering a delightful balance of flavors that left us both talking about it long after we finished. To complement the dishes, we were treated to Sante Adarius beer, which was being poured for the evening (SF beer week). It paired beautifully with the meal and really elevated the whole experience. Overall, it was a fun, satisfying night, and the food definitely exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Anchovy Bar for anyone looking for a delicious, well-curated meal in a relaxed yet refined setting.

   My friends and I went to The Anchovy Bar during my recent trip to SF. The food, service and atmosphere were phenomenal, 10/10. This is my destination restaurant for SF trips. I can’t wait to come back!

   Food was very good. Service was solid: frequent but unintrusive. The staff recommendations were spot-on. The mignonette sauce was very weak, but the oysters were some of the best I have had. Just a lovely evening with my family.

   Great casual spot from the same restaurant group behind State Bird and Progress. The Anchovy Bar should be on your list if you love seafood. Also a great wine list with an awesome selection of wines by the glass.

    The food at Anchovy Bar lived up to its reputation: fabulous! We got lots of things to share. I recommend the platter of mixed seafood for trying all the raw shellfish bites, and the anchovy toasts were excellent. Our server was lovely, very friendly and flexible since we had a party of 5 which doesn't easily split items for 2 or 4 people. We'll be back!
