The Barn is one of Block Island's best kept secrets. This unique dining venue features an open kitchen and a wood fired grill, which creates wonderful flavors that cannot be duplicated at home. As soon as you step into the Barn, you immediately feel welcomed. A combination of our culinary staff cooking right in front of you and the intimate ambiance creates a perfect evening. ** Reservations are highly recommended and credit cards may be taken to hold your time. A $100 charge will be incurred if a reservation is not canceled within 8 hours of your scheduled arrival time. This setting is designed for a quiet dining experience for adults and children above the age of 12 only.
Respectful dress required. **

Please be aware of booking counter top seating. Please know if you do make a "counter top" reservation, this will be at our Chef's Bar, which will be at bar stool height.

                              The Barn is always cozy, friendly and has great service. Sadly, the food has taken a bit of a slip - eliminating some faves from the menu - brussel sprouts, bolognese sauce - which is a shame. New additions are adequate but uneven. Scallops with a way too sweet puree, mediocre salmon, bland haddock. Hoping they'll work out the kinks!

                              Unfortunately, the Barn listed itself as being open and accepted my Open Table reservation but was closed. Particularly difficult since nothing else (literally) was open on the Island in the winter. I read on the web site that they charge $100 for no shows. Maybe they should pay me $100 for no showing. Thankfully, I had cheese and crackers in my room and the inn stocks yogurts for guests.

                              The Barn, especially in winter, is like visiting a friend’s home. Annie, working the very cosy bar as you enter, is there to welcome everyone, whether an islander, a weekender or a lucky newcomer just discovering the island..bound to meet someone, an old friend or a new one, food is season suitable and good..always a special or three, prepared by a trio of chefs in an open kitchen. Julie served us tonight..prompt, good at her job, and just chatty enough, she managed our meal perfectly.. A lovely evening
