With a rich background in winemaking, Alister was raised on his family's vineyards on the Bellarine Peninsula, where he began planting vines at just 10 years old. The noise level was extreme. The menu was poorly designed in that there was little option for a simple plain meal. Our waiter was helpful but could not compensate for the inadequacies made it a most disappointing dine out. Could not even get a bread roll.

Terrible food. Calamari impossible to cut. Scallops dreary and few. Cost of calamari removed from the bill. Good service

The two of us both had the baked snapper. Presented well but very little to actually eat. We will not return in a hurry.

We love going to The Barre when we go to a production at Hamer Hall. The food is always delicious and a pre dinner cocktail is a treat. Happy Hour is a wonderful offering. Service is great. I thoroughly recommend a visit to The Barre.

Good food & vibe. A little expensive but much superior to Miss Pearl next to the Sumner Theatre

Fantastic service from friendly waiters ensured we made it to our show on time. Food was great with a good selection to choose from. Chips to die for!!!!!

Smallish but adequate menu , food always good and service excellent. Best attribute is location and speed of food and drink delivery. They get you and fed and watered and on your way to a show without feeling rushed. Staff are always very pleasant and helpful.

The food was very good but both the duck and the lamb shank were warm rather than hot, which was very disappointing. We had pre-dinner drinks and ordered wine with our meal, but it did not arrive until we were nearly finished. Hot food and better timing and Barre would have been 9/10.

arrived earlier than expected, but table available for 3 had to wait for entree and waitress asked if we had it and then it came mains were very,very satisfactory as all plates were clean I had a sweet and very refreshing waitress was extremely polite and accomodating
