The Bear in the Spa has closed down! We only found out once we got there, very annoying.

When I arrived the restaurant was closed. No information available on site, no phone call nor email received in advance or after. I had to find an alternative solution last minute for 11 people.

When we arrived it was all closed up. We found out later that it had gone bust the week before. Would have been nice for them to cancel their bookings.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been. Place is very nice and food was amazing! I would recommend it to everyone!! Chincken wings were incredible!!

We visit the Bear regularly and always like the food there. The staff turnover however is pretty high which is a shame. We recently went because they were advertising 50% of total bill if you downloaded their loyalty card. No other information/conditions were stated. I downloaded the card the morning of the day we went for the meal. At the beginning of the meal I told the waitress we had the card and the 50% deal and she said great - again no conditions were stated to me. When it comes to paying the £65 bill my loyalty card was not accepted as I was then told its needed to have been downloaded a minimum 24 hours before being used. I was very cross about this as nowhere is this condition stated and the waitress who took our order never said anything either. We couldn't really afford to spend £65 on a meal for two and would have ordered differently had we been told. The waitress (a different one) who refused the card did knock two drinks of the bill as a good will gesture but the whole experience has left me feeling ripped off and I am unlikely to go again in the near future.

We went fir Christmas Day dinner. 10 of us. Food was fantastic our waitress was very attentive. Considering how busy it was in Christmas Day I'd say you got it just right. Congratulations

The table was easy to book online. The food was very good even though they got the order wrong and one of the party had to wait for their food,they apologised and gave us a bottle of wine to compensate.
