Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

Only offered Sunday menu despite claiming on website that al a carte available everyday. Food was ok not good enough to make us want to return for the full menu.

Accept it was a busy service but we had long waits for the food. Those having a main and a pudding had at least an hour wait before they got anything to eat. Perhaps warning about the delays enables people to order a starter if they are hungry.

First time visit but definitely won't be our last, we had the sharing Sunday lunch board which was delicious. The service was excellent and very friendly, the pub was beautiful.

Lovely cosy pub with open fires and beautifully set out for the festive season. Welcomed and shown to our table where the staff were helpful and friendly. Food was delicious, we had starters and mains. The beer and wine were excellent We will definitely be eating there again, wish it was our local!

We booked a dinner for two and were full of expectation after Dan's MasterChef success. We were very disappointed. The "front of house" function was being covered by a super busy bar man (not his fault) so that we didn't sit at our table until 20 minutes after the booked time. Having made our choices from menus passed over from a neighbouring table, the waitress proceeded to tell my wife that none of her starter or main course choices were available and she ended up having no starter and a chicken burger. The waitress also failed to inform us of the "specials" prior to us selecting from the menu. I had the Venison sausage roll to start - which tasted like a standard sausage roll, and my main of seafood tagliatelle was swimming in oil and had clearly been reheated. Desserts were reasonable, frangipane tart and meringue. The basic bill with two blackcurrant and lemonades, one pint of beer and two glasses of wine was over £100. We did leave a basic 15% tip because we felt the majority of the fault fell at Management's door. Needless to say, we will not be re-booking.
