A classic British pub in the heart of the countryside, close to Castle Coch. We offer a selection of ales, ciders and lagers for the thirsty mountain biker. We pride ourselves on home cooked meals with fresh, local produce - our chips have been rated the best in South Wales! With a range of menu items to please every appetite, including our chefs specials that change daily, The Black Cock Inn offers a warm and friendly welcome to those travelling by foot, car or bike!
We have a dog friendly bar area, as well as an outdoor play park and plenty of seating in our beer garden, perfect for the "sunny" Welsh weather.

    The food was excellent, however, it was a very busy lunchtime with a party of about 20, with children who were very loud. The service could have been better but this was an isolated experience. We have eaten at the Black Cock before and the food and service was very good. We will definitely visit again.

    Our first time at The Black Cock in over twenty years and we weren’t disappointed, the food was absolutely delicious, I chose from the daily board my husband and son chose from the main menu and with it being Tuesday 20% off it was great value for what we had. My only grumbles are…one of the starters and one of the mains on the daily special board were t available as they had ‘sold out’ and there should’ve been someone behind the bar at all times as there were times that we had to wait to be served as there was no one available. The service on the arrival was excellent and as I’ve said the food was delicious . It is a pub so don’t expect to find a fine dining experience as the seating arrangements are very much like a cafe setting however we will definitely be back!

    A lovely experience all round. The Inn was beautifully festive and the staff friendly, helpful, and happy. The food and selection of beers and wine were excellent and the food utterly glorious.

    This was my second visit, after being so impressed the first time. The food was hot and tasty. The venue was VERY busy, just like the first visit. The staff were constantly buzzing around and are an absolute credit to the establishment. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I have already made recommendations to staff at work. We will be back, again and again.
