The Black Grape - a new small plate restaurant located on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Expect small plates, wine & good times in a stunning setting. This custom designed wine bar & restaurant is the ideal setting for intimate date night dining, drinks with friends or a quick snack as you people watch in the heart of the city. Our menu is a gastronomic tour de force with inspiration from around the globe. One thing unites all our dishes however - bold, punchy flavours and plates that are perfect for sharing. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food being presented. Food was excellent and served at a lovely pace, allowing full enjoyment of food, drink and atmosphere

Absolutely stunning place. Easily in the top 5 in Edinburgh. Creative dishes that make sense and are a pleasure to eat paired with a good drinks list and super friendly service. Been here twice and it won’t be the last. Worth treating yourself to.

Very slow service across the evening - restaurant was not busy so it surprised me that is was so slow. Dishes came out over a period of more than an hour with little logic. A salad came out later than dishes which needed more intensive preparation. Imbalance across the table with one person still eating a meat dish whilst the rest were tucking into dessert and coffee. Not my cup of tea. Food was of a good standard

First time at the Black Grape on Saturday and we will definitely be back! Excellent, friendly service with helpful advice on how to order from the small plate menu. The food was great and we enjoyed trying lots of different things! The cocktails were also very good.

The service was very poor. Server took our drinks order then proceeded to set up an empty table, I had to chase our drinks order. Not attentive at all with the server actually saying as we were leaving ‘sorry the service wasn’t attentive tonight’ This spoke volumes as I hadn’t complained or commented on the service. We wouldn’t rush back or recommend.
