From day one, we have wanted this little restaurant to be a space where anyone can feel comfortable & welcomed. Classic French cuisine is the root of this ethos - consistent, familiar and even nostalgic flavours from the tried & true feel good classics, yet slightly elevated with a touch of whimsy. Whether you are up for a curated culinary experience with our 4 & 7 Course tasting menus (Fri & Sat evenings), or prefer to choose your own adventure with our 3-course Table D’hote menu (Wed & Thurs evenings), or are in search of an upscale lunch à la carte menu (Thur - Sat); we have you covered! Our menus are composed entirely to showcase the best local products in Lanark County & the Ottawa Valley and are tailored monthly to best celebrate the tastes of the season. The food was absolutely spectacular! Refined and beautiful and yet everything was so tasty! We had the 7 course tasting menu and it was all fabulous! My husband can’t have dairy and they surpassed themselves even making him his own dairy free crème brûlée. All his substitutions were well thought out and tasted fantastic. We highly recommend!

Impeccable service and the food is unparalleled. The Chef’s sense of humor is pretty good too. Love the personal touche and the attention to details.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 course tasting menu at Black Tartan in Carleton Place, ON. The food was sublime, the service extraordinary. The hostess is personal, knowledgeable and welcoming. The courses come to your table, along with the chef who describes the dish and flavours. He treats you like you are old friends. What a delightful evening! The 7 course menu will be next, as we missed out on a few courses we know we would love as well as the other 4! A must-go-to in C.P.

Love BTK and try to dine here a few times a year. Such a gem in Carleton Place Love the seasonality of the menus and the extensive use of local ingredients. More than once we've ended up learning about a previously unknown to us local producer and sought them out after. While the price is not inexpensive it is very fair for what they deliver. Can't wait for patio season!

Our first time and it was amazing. We went for my birthday and the personal touch at the end was really nice and thoughtful. We will be back again to try the next tasting menu!

Amazing tasting menu with local ingredients, friendly and approachable service, a fun crossword and delicious and ingenious details - like a sorbet and fascinator with your squash soup.

We had a fabulous lunch today at Black Tartan Kitchen. My friends thoroughly enjoyed the Steak Frites and the Vegetarian pasta. I had the French Onion Soup which, as always here, was phenomenal!
