The Catbird Seat is an intimate, chef-driven restaurant and culinary incubator that provides chefs a creative outlet in an interactive and open kitchen setting. With just 20 seats arranged around a U-shaped counter, guests are offered a front-row view of the chefs at work, crafting a 10-12 course tasting menu that evolves with the seasons.

Currently led by Chefs Tiffani Ortiz and Andy Doubrava, the menu features a dynamic selection of dishes that emphasize sustainability and innovation. Drawing on ingredients preserved from past seasons, foraged finds, and items from their larder, Ortiz and Doubrava showcase their commitment to creativity, resourcefulness, and a modern approach to sustainable cooking.

Since its opening, The Catbird Seat has received numerous accolades, including recognition as one of GQ Magazine’s Best New Restaurants, Bon Appetit’s Best New Restaurants, Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Wine Restaurants, and Opinionated About Dining’s Top 100 North American Restaurants.

In addition to racking up accolades from GQ and Bon Appétit, Catbird Seat has been an incubator for some of the city’s top chefs. Today, Tiffani Ortiz and Andy Doubrava command the open, counter-style kitchen, turning out innovative New American tasting menus that can stretch to 18 courses of dishes like a walnut cookie filled with chicken liver mousse and berry preserves.

First time. The dishes were amazing. So much flavor. The meal lasted 2+ hours and seemed like 10 minutes. The food and prep were the show. Just an excellent experience. Definitely worth doing.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants all over the world. Every dish was creative and detailed in a way that was a party for the pallet. The attention to detail is unsurpassed, and the chefs passion for cooking is evident. They use the freshest local ingredients and have a treasure trove of a pantry with unique things they make in house. Service was impeccable while still being friendly and completely approachable. We left completely satisfied without feeling stuffed. I cannot say which dish I loved the most. They were all that good. The exciting thing is knowing the next time I visit the adventure will be completely new as these chefs are too creative to be stagnant. Bravo on a creative concept executed deliciously!

We love every minute of this experience! The food was amazing, the chefs explained everything well and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new experience!

We celebrated a double birthday at The Catbird Seat . It was wonderful and the service team and chefs were kind and thoughtful . The pace was perfect and one of the highlights for us was the non alcoholic pairings with our tastings . Yes, it’s true ! The set up of flavors of these magical little sips made our experience delightful. We re still talking about it ! Go with an open mind to experience every bite that is thoughtfully created . With all the restaurants in our town now, make sure you don’t skip this one! Thank you Catbird Seat for a memorable evening and we LOVE the comic book and tasting card we received at the end . Just another personal touch that made us feel connected to the story of Chefs Tiffany Ortiz and Andy Doubrava. Thanks guys!!!

This has been on our list for years but have never been able to get a reservation when it worked for our schedule. We had begun to wonder if it was really worth it but still wanted to try it. And wow - it was REALLY WORTH IT!!! We had an amazing time. The food was as good as anything we have eaten anywhere and the experience was over the top fun! We did the wine/cocktail pairing and it was also worth every penny. I wish I had the words for how good the food is. And sitting at the chef's table where you see all the action is just plain fun. My only caveat is this is a great place for 2 - 4 people -not great for large groups. Can't wait to go back!

Food presentation and staff, A+. But debated saying something (and thought maybe I just didn’t understand the flavors), but some of the fish was overwhelmingly fishy and couldn’t enjoy those dishes. Wonder if it was supposed to taste like that or we were actually served bad fish.

The food and experience were both amazing. At first it seems like you will leave hungry because the portions are small, but there are so many portions you leave very full and very please! The flavors were unparalleled. I very much enjoyed my experience!
