   Perfect Sunday lunch, timely and friendly service, could not fault the roast beef and desserts were delightful.

   The food was served very quickly and was lovely and hot, as well as being delicious. The menu was varied and had dishes which we don’t often see on the menu of gastropub venues. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. It was our first trip to West Sussex and we were glad we had chosen The Chequers Inn.

   The whole lunchtime experience was suberb, from start to finish. highly recomend well worth a visit. Every aspect was faultless.

   Delicious Sunday roast. Restaurant was packed. Didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive, although the table service was rather slow and could have been more attentive.

   An outstanding meal for my daughter's birthday. Food was excellent, service excellent and ambience excellent. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

   Warm welcome and a quiet evening & in main dining area. Beer (Harveys) well kept and in excellent condition. Good range of food in menu & chose risotto (start) & Sausages & Mash (Main). Both were exceptional in presentation, size and flavour and, if I had space, I would have eaten the risotto again. I forgot how good the beer and food is in this pub and it consistently maintains a good standard, probably based on the fact that the landlord has been the same over the years. OK, the pub may get the occasional poor review but, running a business, staff/workload can sometimes be extreme. Overall, this is a very good pub in all aspects and continues to maintain good standards.

   Delicious lunch. I had the loin of venison which was very tender and so tasty I shall definitely be back to have that again ! Followed by coffee panacotta which was gorgeous. My husband had fish and chips, the only criticism would be that it came with far too many fries, followed by jam roly poly - his favourite. Staff were very efficient and helpful.

    Unspoiled country pub serving superb locally sourced food. Excellent ale and a good wine list. (The pinot noir was a great match to the venison.) The welcome could not have been friendlier, nor the service, which was exceptional. Very highly reccomended and we'll be back.
