The City Beer Hall is an American beer hall & housed within downtown Albany’s historic & beautiful old telephone company. Inventive menus focus on locally sourced, seasonal, from-scratch cuisine. Indoor/outdoor seating for dinner, brunch, & late night.
Featuring some of the best craft beverages in the area; we have 20 rotating beer/cider taps, an extensive can/bottle list, & full bar. If you’re looking for a special brew that’s available in the area, chances are we’re pouring it. Not to mention, guests receive a FREE personal pizza with each beer/cocktail purchased! If you’re not looking to stay long, we offer beer to-go in cans.
Our Main Hall is a great location to host a lively group dinner, enjoy a cozy first date by the fireplace, or simply meet some friends for happy hour & a free pizza. The new limited menu is a bit disappointing because of the lack of options, but apparently it's a struggle to keep a kitchen running smoothly, but this seems to be the way in a post-pandemic world for some places. Beer selection is still very good. Service was fast, friendly, efficient. Reservation request was honored.

City Beer Hall is our new favorite spot before a Siena game. Food, beer, and service have all been great since we started coming there. Had lunch there today and opted for the shrimp & asparagus omelette, and it was excellent! Even came with a free beer/mimosa/or Bloody Mary.

Service, food, and beer selection were all very good. Had to pull out my phone's flashlight to read the menus, but otherwise all was good.

Walk in with a reservation with 3 little kids, were not told there was a kids menu. Had trouble finding something for a 4 & 6 on the regular menu. Found out as we were finishing they had kids choices from the waitress at the next table. Prices on the bill were different from the menu. Twenty plus minutes to get the bill. Slow service, won't be back.

We stopped at City Beer Hall before heading to a concert to eat a light dinner. The 3 of us ordered an appetizer to share, two salads and a sandwich meal. The appetizer never came which we mentioned when our food came. At that point, we declined it. I wasn't thrilled with the large wood picnic table setup and finally the Ladies Room was completely out of toilet paper. (?!) It was my first time there and I would probably go back to give it another shot because the food was pretty good and it's close to downtown concert venues. Also, open Sunday.
