Set in an unassuming blue house with a storied history, The Classic serves globally-inspired menu items, prepared with farm-quality ingredients by a creative and collaborative kitchen team. The menu of fresh seafood, premium steaks and pastas includes items that follow the seasons, as fruits and vegetables ripen in The Classic’s on-site garden. The Classic offers a full bar, craft cocktails, and a wine list carefully selected to complement the menu. Live classical guitar with a rock twist can be heard in the bar on Friday and Saturday nights.

Service at The Classic is warm, professional and knowledgeable – a place where guests are recognized and treated like family. Quaint and relaxing ambience is highlighted with pops of colorful modern art by acclaimed artist Carolyn Riegelman.

In addition to in-house dining, The Classic offers curbside pick-up and local delivery of regular menu items as well as to-go-only blue plate specials, take-and-bake options, wine, and cocktails.

    The Classic never disappoints, the atmosphere is elegant but casual, the service is prompt and friendly, and the food is sophisticated and unique. Portion sizes are appropriate and not overwhelming . Will definitely return , our go to for a relaxing night out

    There is a reason The Classic Cafe in Roanoke has been open 30 years. The food was perfect. The staff was on point - warm, friendly and attentive. We had an amazing time.

    The Classic seems to be losing their grip on quality and pricing versus what so many of us come to expect. To a person (party of 4), we all felt the food quality and execution has slipped and now it is no longer worth a $200 per couple price tag for the experience. Service as always was excellent and attentive.

    Charming and classy in a comfortable setting. The service was outstanding, with knowledgeable staff that provided service with perfect timing. The sad part was the food - overall three of four entrees were okay (beef bourguignon, jaegerschnitzel, trout) - only the lamb chops were exceptional. The side dishes were very good. Desserts were not worth the extra anything - bread pudding was the strangest we’ve ever encountered- a small ramekin with dumpling like texture and lack luster taste. Crème brûlée was very good. This restaurant has been around for a long time and we’ve been dining here since the beginning. Very disappointed in this visit which makes us want to avoid it for quite some time. Especially for $$$+.

    This a must go to! I have been visiting Classic Cafe for years and have enjoyed the experience each and every time - yes, each and every time. Fantastic meal, outstanding service, nice wine selection, full bar. Make a reservation as this place gets busy come 6:30 to 7:00. And I would go any day of the week.

    3 for dinner, nice quiet tasteful room arrangement and decor, very good service - timely attentive without intrusion food was very good, the sauce on schnitzel best I have experienced wine list adequate for most, not so large as to be difficult manager is over the top with hospitality role total combination of ambiance, food quality, service and attention as good as it gets anywhere

    If you are looking for a restaurant that is intimate, with great food, service, that makes dining a great experience then this is it. The Classic Café is the place for you. Ask for Anna she is a great server.
