After four successful years on the Upper West Side, we are thrilled to be opening our second location, bringing The Consulate’s diverse and global concept to Midtown. We welcome our regulars, new neighbors and friends, to experience the space, which celebrates the French-style bistro of our sister location with a few surprises across the board, ranging from exciting additions to the food & beverage menu to a refreshed design. Our food and drinks were excellent, as was the service. We had made the reservation to enjoy the pre-theater fixed menu, as advertised. When we arrived and inquired, we were told it was not available on the weekends. We had not seen this on the website, so we felt a bit disappointed. However, we still had an enjoyable experience.

The food was good and the space was nice. The service was good. The prices were definitely on the high side. The most disappointing thing was I don’t think they used real orange juice in the mimosa. It should’ve been fresh squeezed but I don’t even think it was actual orange juice. The condiments for the Bloody Mary were very hard to get off the pick I think they had been prepared well in advance so they were stuck.

Nice place, quick service, good bistro style lunch options. Might be a regular rotation option for biz lunch.

Food was quite good. However, their website advertises a pre-theatre price fix ($65 per plate) and when we arrived and were seated, we were told that was not available. In truth, it's why we made the reservation. Disappointing!

Bread service was burnt toast. Weird. Cocktail menus don’t say when there’s egg whites on them, so we had to send back our cocktail. There’s no bread plates or appetizer plates. But the ambience is really pretty, and dinner was good. I don’t know. Mixed review.

It was New Year's Eve, so the dinner was a bit overpriced - as you would expect - however the experience ended up being really good and supported by very good service.

We dined with them on Christmas evening and had a great experience! Really nicely decorated. The service was excellent and the food was good. We had lobster risotto and a filet with mashed potatoes. All were excellent, except the mashed potatoes reminded me of boxed instant.
