The "warmest" vibe in NW Ohio meets Farm-to-Table at The Dark Horse Social Club. This 1868, National Register structure has been completely transformed; warm and romantic, perfect for quiet dinners and heartfelt conversation while savoring fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes in a setting that feels both intimate and special.

We offer fresh food focused on local sourcing and home-made recipees. Our beef is raised in Holgate, OH and processed locally. The cheese on our boards is made from local, whole milk in Hicksville, OH. We use 100% California olive oil in our oil based dressings - it is not cut with canola/soy/vegetable oils. Our flatbreads come in at less than 30 carbs each. We are known for our cocktails, particularly our Old Fashioneds and our Seasonal Speicialty Drinks.

    The staff at this restaurant are exceptional. Your waiter/waitress is not the only one coming around to your table. Several staff asked how I was doing, did I need anything etc. Last time I was here, I ordered a drink and the man who prepared my drink brought it out to me. The menu isn’t too big. Food is delicious. It’s a very small restaurant, so it’s a good idea to make reservations.

    Great food! My creamy potatoe soup and pomegranate feta salad was amazing! My husband had the pasta band meatballs. We ended the meal with an amazing dessert of pudding cake. It was delish. * my husband did think maybe a slice of garlic toast would of been good with the pasta. ( not necessarily needed nut would of been good to have)

    We LOVE this restaurant! Food is always amazing! It is a must try if you are in Toledo area! The desert was great and soo perfect!

    It is a given that we eat at Dark Horse Social Club at least twice a month. The owners and staff are wonderful. Saturday evening, I had the best salad I have had in a long time. Everyone is welcome: however, they do take reservations.

    Excellent service and awesome meals. Will definitely be back!! From being immediately seated our servers were all over us to answer any questions or requests that we had.

    We have two favorite places in Defiance, Ohio to eat and this is one of them. If you are from out of town, it is worth a trip to visit and eat at Dark Horse Social Club. The staff and owners are so nice. The menu is changed several times a year, so there is always something different to try.
