The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing’s greatest moments. Diners are invited to take a break from the rush of modern life and travel back to the time of George Woolf, Seabiscuit, and relive the excitement of “The Race of the Century”. We excel in offering the best meat and fresh seafood hand selected by our longtime executive chef that would delight even the most discriminating of taste. Some of the menu highlights include the Bacon Wrapped Filet, Delmonico New York, Prime Rib and Shrimp Scampi. We offer a wide selection of wines by the bottle and by the glass. Relax and enjoy a delicious meal in one of our iconic red leather booths, take in a beautiful evening on our terrace, or watch a sporting event in our bar and lounge.     We celebrated Valentine’s Day here and once again it didn’t disappoint! Our waiter was Luciano who we have had the good fortune to have him serve us for the third time. He was not only friendly and efficient in bringing us our food but also made time on a very busy night to listen to my husband’s jokes attentively. We both loved our bacon wrapped filets which were delicious, tender and cooked to medium rare perfectly. The cheese bread continues to be wonderful. The Beringer Cabernet complimented the filets We forgot to bring our bottle of champagne so we opted to bring home our whiskey bread pudding so we could enjoy it with our champagne. The perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Our only regret is that the warm bacon and spinach salad is no longer on the menu so we opted for the French onion soup which was good but we thought it would have been better with some more onions in it. We will definitely be back!

    Shrimp Cocktails were perfect. Loved my roast chicken plated with sautéed spinach. Husband’s Beef Dip was supposed to be shaved rare roast beef; definitely not rare. His side of Mac and Cheese wasn’t nearly as good as last time.

    Both my wife and I chose the three course menus and it was absolutely spectacular. Also need to give a shout out to our server, Ally, who was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, enthusiastic, and probably one of the best servers we have ever had. Not sure if the Derby lets people request a specific server but we will definitely try get her in the future. The spiced meatball starter tasted great and was actually quite a large portion for a starter. All the food was cooked to perfection. We are fortunate to only live about a mile from the Derby and after checking a couple other steakhouses further away, we feel there is no need to drive anywhere else.

    It’s always great food the last couple times I’ve been in the servers are not rude just really forgetful don’t bring us fill up with water we asked for a steak knife they never gave it to us until the end but everything else is always
