Great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere – what more could you want from a restaurant and country pub! 2024 has seen an extensive £150,000 refurbishment creating a stylish and contemporary restaurant & country pub..

Set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, it is the main destination inn in the area. The delicious created dishes on our menu are locally sourced and reflect the changing seasons, mirroring the wonderful walks to be found through Skipwith Common, right on its doorstep.

Absolutely fantastic evening. The staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. We waited a while for our food but it didn't matter as they brought us some delicious bread and the food was well worth the wait. We can't wait to come back!!!

From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome and looked after very well. The service was spot on, they made time to explain the menu and the soup of the day. When it came to our food, we ordered the sharing plate of steak medium rare which was done to perfection., not to mention the actual taste was exceptional. Everything was done to a very high standard and the atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing, everyone was having a great time. I would recommend the Drovers Arms to all my friends and family.

We had a warm friendly greeting when we arrived. The restaurant was busy but we were seated straight away and not kept waiting long to order. The soup & beetroot houmous starters were delicious. Our mains, we both had steak, they were cooked to our preference and were very tender & tasty, the sauces to accompany were full of flavour but not overpowering. The jam roly poly cheesecake was out of this world. We had an enjoyable evening and would highly recommend paying them a visit.

The service and food where very good .We where greeted on arrival and shown to our table and the service was attentive all evening .The food also was very good and I can recommend the fish and chips or the steak and ale pie .

The drink and food menu’s are comprehensive giving plenty of choice for all tastes. We went with the Steak sharing board and what arrived at the table was something to behold, everything cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and as for the taste, just wow! Of course the whole experience is only possible with good service and once again all the staff we interacted with were polite, attentive and efficient. So in summary, if you’re looking for some outstanding food, excellent service in a beautiful location then the Drovers Arms is the place to go.

We were delighted to discover this lovely restaurant Everything about the venue was excellent - the fod, the ambience, the service and the staff. They even recognised it was my birthday this week and gave me a card!

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today, would recommend the fish & chips. Lovely friendly staff who weren’t overbearing.
