   Sunday lunch at The Duke is the best in the local area by some distance. The staff are excellent.

   Food just unusual enough to be interested and just traditional enough to be comforting. Delicious, tasty and well prepared with a good range of drinks and lovely, friendly, unobtrusive service.

   Came for dinner to try the new spring menu. Some exciting dishes with a fusion of British, Italian and Japanese fusion. The dynamite cauliflower with Japanese 7 spice dressing lived up to its name while the lamb arancini were moist and tasty. Excellent salmon supreme as a main course while the duck leg with spicy wonton noodles was a success. Lovely lemon sorbet to cool the palate. As ever , Brandon and the team looked after us very well.

   Mum loved her afternoon tea for mothers day. It's was delicious and she was very impressed with the gluten free scones 😋😋

   We do not eat out that much as I always feel disappointed when visiting pubs that I could have cooked it better myself !! After hearing good reviews from other friends that had visited the duke hotel and looking at the menu online we decided to book. We were not disappointed!! We were a party of 4 and 3 of us decided to have the 2 course lunch which was great value for money and food fabulous as was the service. We were looked after well by the friendly host. We will definitely be coming back !

   As former restauranteurs we are not easy customers but the Duke was extremely good and beyond our expectation, Service was of a high end and the whole experience encouraged us to visit again soon. We are highly recommending this place to our friends, family and work associates.

   Superb experience from start to finish. I popped to The Duchess during the day and purchased some beautiful cupcakes and flowers for the birthday girl. We were a late booking for a large group of 8 with a number of dietary requirements which were all met without fuss. Our starters were divine including the Caviar and Roe starter which we ordered at the last minute (100% recommend). Everyone very much enjoyed their starters, then on to the mains. I had carelessly left off one of the orders but this was picked up and filled in super quick time, and again without fuss. All 8 meals were absolutely fantastic with the lamb causing the most food envy around the table but with 8 empty plates, everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. I had the celariac which was to die for. We opted not to have desserts as we had a 9 year old with us and had bought the cakes for home already. The drinks options were great, we enjoyed a bottle of Cremant, a much preferred alternative to the age old Prosecco most places serve now. The red wine was lovely and service all round was fantastic. I could not recommend highly enough. This is a fairly new restaurant but they are adventurous with their menu plans, serving delicious food, piping hot with great service on the side. Kudos to all the team, thank you and well done.

   Nice roast dinner today for 2 of us.We chose beef and pork, both very tasty and good portion size. The day was marginally spoiled by being very close to a very load group on the next table.

    We are regulars at The Duke. As ever, Brandon and the team produced excellent fare and service in pleasant surroundings. Quite clear that other diners were also enjoying themselves.
