Tim C, our pastry chef, has worked in the industry for the last ten years. His career began in Birmingham and from here he has travelled the world, including Australia and Malaysia. His background is in 5* hotels and he has run the pastry kitchen at some of the most prestigious hotels in the UK.

Tim C moved back to Birmingham in January 2017 and ran stalls selling his cakes and pastries at some of the local food festivals over the summer, including the Kings Heath street festival, Birmingham Coffee Festival and Digbeth Dining Club. It was while he was running a stall at the coffee festival in 2017 that he met Tim G.

Tim G has always had a passion for food and hospitality, as well as a desire to support growing new businesses. They decided to join forces along with Tim’s brother, Joe, to complete the founding Early Bird team. Joe has a background in business management and, like his brother, has a strong passion for food, coffee and people – key values of The Early Bird.

Really welcoming staff made us and our children feel at ease. Lovely food at the brunch so much of it that we took our muffins home! Would recommend for brunch or just coffee and cake.Nice to have an independent bakery so close to home.

We went to the early bakery for brunch- food was delicious & the atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

We very much enjoyed our brunch on Saturday. We were delayed by road closures but the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The food was delicious and very filling. We will certainly be back!

The food all came at the same time rather than staggered. But the food was delicious and we are very excited to return again soon!

A lovely warm welcome after lockdown. The afternoon tea was delicious. Have booked again for brunch next week. The food, staff and service here cannot be faulted.

Brilliant bakery, food is always fantastic, very friendly staff. I always take guests here and regularly buy cakes here myself.
