Welcome to The Elephant Restaurant
The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which is situated near the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham.

Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff.

Due to the style of cooking we cannot produce dairy free menus & therefore cannot provide vegan options.

A deposit is required to make reservations on special days of the year, on our special events, or for tables of 6 or more. This is paid over the phone by calling 01803 200044.

Children's menu is only available at lunch for ages 10 and under.

Tasting menu only available in the evening unless requested via phone in advance.

    We have waited a long time to eat at the Elephant Restaurant and it exceeded our expectation. We had the most amazing meal in a beautiful restaurant. The tasting menu and wine flight was fabulous. The service and attention to detail was excellent with all staff attentive to our needs. A fabulous memory for me and my wife that we shall never forget. We look forward to our next opportunity. Thank you.

    This was my wife an I’s third visit, and it has already become our favourite place to dine. We’ve always opted for the taster menu, twice at lunchtime. The value for Michelin star quality is outstanding. The wine flight is a reasonably priced addition and it superbly matched. The front of house team are discreet and professional whilst managing to create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, which makes return visits a certainty.

    Great Michelin starred restaurant. Lovely lunchtime taster menu. Staff were attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommended.
