Set in the picturesque village of Abbots Ripton with access to beautiful walks on the local estate, The Elm has everything you want from your perfect countryside pub; A glorious garden, a roaring fire, comfortable rooms, delicious food and a wide selection of drinks.

The Grade II-listed building was built, as an open hall, in the late 15th Century to offer hospitality to the drovers bringing cattle down from Scotland (along the Bullock Road) to the market at St.Ives. It was later altered with the insertion of a brick chimney in the early 17th century. The Fellowes family, that own and run the pub, came to the area around the same time the pub got its chimney...

                                                                        The quality of the food served was excellent. Service was good without being over attentive. Setting was great and a lovely warm atmosphere inside with plenty of other customers. There was only a single main option for vegetarians however. Change that and we will definately be going back again.

                                                                        The Elm provided a very enjoyable atmosphere both in the bar and restaurant. Recommendation on wine choices were excellent. Food outstanding with no complaints from the whole table. Staff were very pleasant and couldn't be more attentive. A gorgeous setting too. Look forward to going back to try both lunch and Sunday menus!

                                                                        My friend and I went for lunch. The food and service were excellent and the menu is really good. Good selection of beer, wonderful wine list and an amazing offering of whisky.

                                                                        Recently taken over by new management/owners. It’s been our go to place for many many years. The service was incredibly slow - we waited an hour for our food. It was quite obvious that they didn’t have adequate serving staff - this may just been teething problems given the recent reopening. The ambience has changed - it was very very noisy - children running around - in and out of the doors. Leaving home open on a very cold day. Some diners asked to be moved to another table. The food was OK but not up to the usual standard. Without making excuses - it was very busy. We will give in another try in a few weeks once things have settled down.

                                                                        Food was very nice - was a very busy night. Early days but maybe good idea to get more staff behind bar as when we first arrived we stood at bar for what felt a long time whilst 2 staff were serving the restaurant drink orders plus people waiting to pay before anyone spoke to us and asked if we had a table booked !! We Will return tho as enjoyed our meal.

                                                                        I had the risotto which was well good and tasty. The size of the was quite small and it would have benefited with a vegetable side course. The presentation was good and it was served in a nice room.
