The Farmhouse at Redcoats is set in a beautiful 15th century farmhouse and gardens nestled in the north Hertfordshire countryside. Sherwin Jacobs heads the kitchen and promises to deliver an experience you will not forget specialising in quality, fresh, local produce. Private dinning is available in the charismatic main house rooms. Please call us directly to book an afternoon tea, 24 hour notice is needed.

Una Gemma preziosa nascosta nella stupenda cornice della campagna Ciltern Hills, Perfetto come sempre, il servizio perfetto, lo chef e la sua brigata, con la loro cucina impeccabile, che da origine ad un esplosione di sapori nel palato, dalla freschezza e autenticità dei prodotti all arredo semplice ed elegante al tempo stesso, Nulla è fuori posto in questa meravigliosa location, di gran lunga superiore allo standard medio inglese. Cucina tradizionale rivisitata in chiave moderna e sofisticata.

We were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and what a special treat. The food was fantastic, service excellent and setting first rate. It’s a place we go for ‘nice’ meals and this was another memorable one. Thanks to everyone concerned for making it such an enjoyable celebration.

Lovely place . Fabulous professional service Only problem it was very noisy , could hardly hear each other talk ! Would like to try again in the summer months when the doors are open

Really Amazing service, very attentive and really helpful recommendations for choices. We had a party of 6, I had a few questions before our reservation and they got back to me super quickly. Plant based menu was amazing - really great choice. Highly recommend the mushroom wellington! All the food was great, (only reason for a 4 rather than a 5 was other groups feedback that they didn’t have the crab). Lovely building and location, over all a fantastic experience- so much so that we have booked a private room for Christmas Lunch 2025 already!!

Nice venue. Lovely freshly prepared food with good quality ingredients. The rib eye steak in particular is highly recommended. Reasonably priced overall given the quality. Only grumble is that the service varied between efficient and friendly to forgetful. Also I dont think a venue in rural Hertfordshire should be adding on a 12.5% service charge by default, its not London! Overall I would recommend and if the service sharpened up I would give it 5 stars.

I reserved the farmhouse at Redcoats for a special New Year's Day dinner, but I was extremely disappointed when my steak was served cold and not cooked to my requested preference. It was very upsetting not being able to enjoy the New Year's dinner with my partner as we had planned.

Lovely food and excellent service once a new member of staff had taken over from the previous waitress who seemed to have disappeared. There was a little confusion about what sides if any would be included with our main courses. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Our new waitress was friendly and helpful with a smile at all times. We liked our table for 4 in the corner of the conservatory. A good restaurant to come to for a special meal!

Was given bread for the table by a man, manager maybe? Then another young guy brought us bread and I said we already had some, and were not eating the first lot, he said oh, well have it anyway instead of taking away Drinks took ages to arrive once ordered. Set one of mine back as too spicy, he made me cough non stop, replacement came, still wasn't nice, so left it and ordered something else. Starterswas nice. Mains, one nice and one was more a starter small size rather than a main meal. Expensive for what we had.
