A favorite Southwest Virginia landmark, The Farmhouse Restaurant has served the New River Valley since 1963. The authentic farm house, originally part of the Ridinger Estate, was build in the 1800's.

In the early 1970's, an old train caboose was added to provide a unique dining area. During the past decade, a rustic lounge, additional dinner seats, and a spacious 250-seat Banquet Facility have added to the charm of The Farmhouse.

Our first time there and we will be back! Fabulous meal, service was excellent, and we loved the ambiance! I highly recommend The Farmhouse!

An exceptional local business with a unique southern style, great food, excellent service, and reasonable prices close to VT. We had an amazing dinner and great experience while visiting our daughters.

Making reservation was quick and easy. Layout of restaurant insures a quiet dining experience. Food was very good with many different options on the menu. Wine and beer list is extensive. Service was outstanding. Halee was friendly and provided excellent service throughout the meal.

We had brunch and it was delish! Nothing like a steak and eggs with rare prime rib. The sugared Belgian waffle was so good my husband ate half and he doesn’t even like sweets.

Great food as always. We had prime rib and crab cakes. We both had mashed potatoes and asparagus as our sides. Food has great taste. Good portion size. Service - our server was very pleasant but not attentive as we ate. We had to flag her down a couple of times. The last cup of coffee was very lukewarm.

The farmhouse it’s always on the Mark every time ….they never miss… The staff is always top-notch in a great mood, even when sometimes spread too thin

Our server and the hostess were friendly and engaging. Our server was attentive, helpful, and made an exception on something they’d removed from the menu but was still printed. The service was absolutely the best part of our experience. Everyone ordered from the brunch menu, and generally enjoyed the food, but I felt like it sat under a warmer, the breakfast potatoes were too done. The restaurant has nice nooks & semi private spaces throughout. I would give it another shot.
