The Fat Badger is both an all-day restaurant dining room as well as a farm shop - bringing everything
the Gladwin Brothers love about the countryside to life in London. The aim is to inspire local
residents and visitors to celebrate the riches of great British produce; either buying retail from their
speciality farm shop or dining in the restaurant enjoying an artisanal approach to great food.
With a little cheek and lashings of charm, as is true to Brothers style, guests can expect to enjoy the
familiarity of brasserie-style dishes with twists from using wild and foraged ingredients, which guests
can also buy and take home to cook themselves
Find The Fat Badger on Richmond Hill, just a short walk from the beautiful Richmond Park and
riverside as well as evening-frequented cinemas and Richmond theatre.

Brunch was very good - generous portions of delicious food. A multi-generational party enjoyed the food and ambience on a Sunday morning.

So disappointing. Love the other restaurants in the family but this was a really bad experience. Ambience was great but…. Despite a limited menu two main courses werent available, the waitress seemed not to care less and the food was really not good. I enjoyed the venison but everyone else was disappointed. The crab was really poor, the truffle pasta tasteless, etc. All in it was £60 a head and as host I was very embarrassed. A real shame

Probably the worst birthday meal ever. The crab eclair was soggy and as big as my little finger. Could not taste the fennel on it. My husband’s steak was supposed to be medium rare but was on the rare side which wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t as tough as old boots. Horrible. The shallots were undercooked and tough.My pork was ok but the potato purée was not good and all I could taste was flour. Waiter wasn’t interested when we mentioned the steak.Overpriced evening we didn’t stay for dessert.

Simply outstanding in all fronts. We enjoyed everything from crab eclair, mackerel, venison (superb dish!), seabass, and the potatoes (must try). Service was top notch, they even took the time to sing and wish a happy birthday :) So happy to have The Fat Badger in our negihbourhood.

The place was completely empty for a Thursday lunchtime. But could be January. I was given a call when we were 7 mins late, when normally the grace period is 10-15 mins. We were greeted by one of the servers and they were helpful with getting our buggies down the stairs. Shame though we felt like there was a bit of abruptness when we wanted to order from the brunch menu and lunch menu when there was 10 mins between them. I came especially to try the snacks from the lunch menu and didn’t see a problem for me to just wait 10 mins. But we were refused and told everyone had to eat from the same menu. Feeling a bit hard done by and feeling like we were treated absurdly we persistently ordered one meal from the brunch menu as someone wanted and then we asked the other server to serve us for the lunch menu which he was fine about. We originally felt like the attitude we got wasn’t very welcoming or supportive in anyway. One of us was persistently told to try a specific drink over and over again even when we said we weren’t keen. The attitude was quite strange. Since coming when it first opened and it was super busy with a great vibe, I couldn’t help but feel like it has lost its charm and good service. Kinda felt embarrassed bringing people there especially as it’s fairly pricey, something I didn’t mind as the food was good. The snacks were a bit lacklustre and seemed quite lonely on the scraped up wooden boards and the cheese and chicory snack looked like something I could quickly put together from the fridge. Not to mention one of the oysters I got looked pitiful, I know it depends on what you get, but surely see that one looks awful and don’t send it out to the customer. The chorizo dish I got was good but waaay to much chorizo then yoghurt so it just didn’t quite work. Such a shame as I know what potential it had but now seems a bit sad. Not sure if I’ll return in the future unless I know it will be busy and the menu is certain and service improves.
