Whilst the FOH staff were friendly and welcoming, the food that we ordered wasn’t great. The restaurant was obviously very busy, and can only presume the kitchen was rushed. We ordered the fish and chips, which was a good portion size. Some of the chips were quite tough to chew and the fish was over seasoned. The dessert we had was very good, however. The establishment (and yourselves) may ask: “Well why didn’t you complain at the time of eating?” I understand this, but the food wasn’t bad enough to make a scene about, it’s more a a case of that we probably wouldn’t eat there again, based on this experience. We wish the establishment all the best, we just wanted to be honest. Thanks

Great ambience, food was superb - possibly the best burger ever - service was friendly and first rate. Will definitely revisit.

Superb pub in York City Walls. Friendly and approachable staff. Good menu choice. On this occasion just a little disappointed on the roast dinner, as not up to it usually high standard.

MASSSIVE MASSIVE FAN but this time we did wait half an hour for food and all the others in our room were served before us - we had time pressure so guess felt the issue more than normal - best Roast i have when i visit the UK and it delivered again
