La sera che ci siamo presentati dovevamo mangiare fuori sul terrazzino perché dentro c’era un’evento. Questo pero l’hanno avvisato pochi giorni prima e quindi va bene. Abbiamo deciso venire lostesso perche doveva essere uno dei migliori ristoranti a Charlotte. Il servizio era buono ma purtroppo non posso dire la stessa cosa sul cibo. Non so se era la colpa dell’evento che tra altro non e nemmeno iniziato ma nessuno dei piatti era ad altezza delle ottime recensioni.

We found the Fug Tree on Open table and a travel blog recommendation and it was exactly what we were looking for! We had a fabulous time celebrating my daughter’s 23rd birthday trip from Los Angeles -- and met others celebrating their anniversaries. We shared 2 apps, a salad, 1 main, and ordered 3 drinks (2 different cocktails and a glass of wine) — and unfortunately didn’t have room for dessert which we were looking forward to — but they still brought some homemade chocolates on a plate inscribed Happy Birthday with a candle, which was lovely! The wait staff were very personable and took great care of us including splitting shared dishes without being asked. The cocktails were unique and yummy. The food was a fantastic mix of flavors and cooked to perfection. The house was tastefully decorated for the holidays. Compared to LA prices it was at least 50% less expensive than a similar experience — but we did tip a lot more than we usually would since service was fantastic and min wage in NC is about 1/4 of that in CA.

A very well run restaurant with high quality and great tasting multilayered food. Our experienced waiter offered helpful advice and attentive service. One of Charlotte’s top restaurants!

I ordered the sea bass and lobster. My sea bass came out uncooked and cold center. Took it back. Came back 1/2 the size originally given with less everything. So they just recooked part of my dish. Potatoes now were cold and unsure if any lobster left. For a dish $66 I expected way more

Went to The Fig Tree for our anniversary. Asked for bar seating but the bar is very small so it was (understandably) full. They placed us in a tiny secluded room upstairs which was awkward and uncomfortable. The server (whose name I wish I remembered) was amazing! But other than that it was a let down and not worth the $300+ we spent. The foie gras was ok, but you have to request bread to go with it. The octopus was good. My husband ordered the elk chop which was tasty. I ordered the salmon cooked medium, it came out very rare, they “heated it up”, and it came back half rare and half cooked slightly more. I ended up taking home the undercooked part to microwave. They did give us truffles for our anniversary which was nice. Overall, we won’t be back.
