   A wonderful old pub serving delicious food—and, in season, excellent asparagus! Service is very attentive and prompt! You feel completely indulged as a guest!

   The service was good and all staff very personable and friendly. However, the food was very average. We waited a long time for the food and when it came it was cold. As we were out with friends for a celebration, it became very difficult to discuss this with staff.

   Delicious food, great service. Beautiful pub. Tempura asparagus was absolutely divine! The only criticism we could think of, was that we had to go pay at the bar after our meal. The bar was relatively busy, so we had to wait a while to just pay our bill. Will definitely be returning.

   The special seasonal asparagus menu gave great choice and tasty starters. The main courses were enjoyed by the party, specially the steak, Stilton and ale pie. The desserts were marvellous. A pavlova was described as 'the best dessert I've had in years'. The choices of local beers and wines were excellent.

   Booked a lunchtime table for 4 at The Fleece recently. The service and atmosphere was great and the food even better. One of our group described his Ham as the best he's had for many, many years. Praise indeed, but totally deserved! The Fleece is very highly recommended.
