The Fox Inn is an 18th Century pub, set in the peaceful village of Matching Tye.
It has a character beamed restaurant with a relaxed friendly atmosphere, is open 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays), serving good wholesome food from an extensive menu, with roast dinners being served on a Sunday lunch. There is a large family garden in which to enjoy the quiet country summers and ample car parking space.

Lovely atmosphere and brilliant waiting staff. The food was gorgeous and big portions. They had really considered customer’s experience while keeping in line with the Covid regulations. Will definitely be booking again soon!

My meal, pie, mash and veg was cold when it was bought out to me. The waitress took it back and when it was returned it looked like it had just been put in the microwave as it was identical apart from the fork marks in the mash! We won't be going back. Also, check the prices before you book, they are all higher than the menu on the Open table page.

We had a really nice meal with friends and the food was lovely. My only critisism would be that at £7.50, the prawn cocktail starter was overpriced. The prawns and lettuce were very fresh but there was no bread with it as you would expect so it was quite a small portion for the money considering you can get a main meal for £10-12. It was quite busy but the staff was attentive and they were quick with both the food and drink orders. My main meal wasn't bought out with the others and I had to ask if they could check where it was as the other 3 had started eating their meals. It arrived a few minutes later. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go back again.

I have been going to the Fox on a regular basis for some years. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is good quality pub food. They have adapted well to COVID-19 rules and provided a first glass takeaway during the lockdown. I will continue to recommend The Fox as a good place to eat.

Perfect place to eat and drink, completely safe in current climate too. Staff exemplary in service and quality of food and drinks were excellent.

Always love eating here. Never fail to provide fantastic service. There was a mass power cut and I was still satisfied with the service. That's how you know they're good at what they do. Can't recommend them more!
