    Good day. We booked for three people to celebrate my 76th birthday. The Gardeners is our local pub for the last 9 years. We have seen several management changes over the years, some good and some not so good. I had to find a set of menus for our table as there were none on any of the tables. We were told that the menu was limited due to lack of deliveries. Last night we ordered two fish and chips which was good and my son ordered a double beef burger and it was filled with too much mayonnaise. The Guinness was not the best. The desert took more than 30 minutes before it was served. We paid but did not realise that a discretionary service charge had been included amounting to £13.59. We were disappointed to see such a charge in a local pub. We will not be returning as the total amounted to £122.29 which is not value for money. Best regards, Geoff Powell

    9 of us came for a late Sunday lunch , the food was lovely and plentiful. Our wines were lovely too & the Beer always good.

    Despite having undergone a change of management in recent months and having recruited new staff including a new chef, we were pleased that, if anything, our overall experience and evening as a whole was very good. The new chef coped very ably indeed. Long may it continue.

    Very nice pub. Friendly staff. Nice food. Good menu choices. Will definitely go there again.

    Shocking experience once again with the food. Nothing available on the menu. We all decided that was the last chance… as it happens every time. We so want to have a decent local pub. Such a shame… no potato’s, managed to pull a side salad together… and do it goes on..,

    We had good attention and very good wine and food, especially the hummus and flatbread, my fish when I asked for it not to be battered they oven cooked it which was very good

    Looks like it’s closing down ??? Nothing on the menu! 1 person for service (brave) kitchen closes at 8!!! Catastrophic!

    No problem with service but very poor choice of foods as half of the foods on the menu was unavailable
