   Good food speedily served by pleasant waiting staff. Good beer and wine. Lovely garden and pretty village.

   Lovely place to eat for my husbands 60th birthday! Food is soooo good. We both had 3 courses and it was all fabulous. Staff we helpful and friendly. We will definitely recommend and return. The only down side is that you have to park on the street so could be difficult at busy times. Don't let it put you off though, the food makes up for all that.

   Flawless from Start to Finish This place has absolutely nailed the dining experience. From the moment we stepped through the door, it was clear that the team here knows exactly what they’re doing. The service ran like clockwork—smooth, friendly, and professional in a way that only comes from real experience and passion. Melany looked after us and was amazing from start to finish. Super knowledgeable about the menu, full of great recommendations, and just made the whole evening feel easy and enjoyable. We followed his lead and ordered the steak special and the burger—and honestly, both were absolutely spot on. The steak was cooked to perfection, full of flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tender. And the burger? Easily one of the best we’ve had. Juicy, packed with flavor, with the perfect bun-to-meat ratio and crispy fries on the side that were just addictive. Every bite had us nodding in approval. Every course after that kept the standard sky high. From starters through to dessert, everything was done with care, attention, and a clear love for the food. Not a single detail was overlooked. Even the vibe in the room was perfect—great atmosphere, lighting just right, and music that added to the experience without being overbearing. You can really feel the thought and pride that’s gone into every part of this place. We couldn’t fault a single thing. Already planning our next visit—and next time, we’re bringing people with us.

   We enjoyed the Sunday roast at the Green Man. The seating was in a very comfortable covered area, but very light. The service was good except my wife was brought a pint of an alcoholic beer rather than non-alcoholic as she'd ordered, because she was driving. The vegetables, potatoes, parsnips, gravy and Yorkshire puddings were all very good. But my wife's pork was not pork belly as stated on the menu, and was very dry. My beef was too thinly slices, very well cooked and didn't have a lot of flavour. But, in all, and enjoyable Sunday pub lunch.

   Many thanks for your review. We apologise that you were served the incorrect Ghost Ship, I am sure you appreciate this was a genuine error. Should you have brought to our attention at the time that your meal was not to your full satisfaction then undoubtedly we would have resolved for you especially as Sundays are the highlight of our week.    Great pub with excellent food, and very friendly staff. Portion sizes on the main menu are huge, so if you want to try their fish and chips (and you should) the smaller fish portion the daily set menu (good value) is enough for many. Only problem is parking. Get there early.

   Many thanks for your lovely review, fish and chips are definitely a great classic dish we use fresh cod for both our menus. During the summer months the village car park is open which is a great option for parking. Our team are super friendly so it's great that you have recognised that.    Outstanding Sunday roasts – not just the best in Grantchester, but probably the best in all of Cambridge. Grantchester might be a small village with a few pubs, but this place truly stands out. The roast beef was absolutely exceptional. Lovely traditional decor, a warm atmosphere, and really helpful, friendly staff. 100% recommend!

   Disappointing first time visit - ridiculously small serving of thinly sliced sourdough bread followed by huge piece of inedible gristle in my husbands main course pie - it was the majority of the filling. Staff showed it to the chef who said it’s smoked ham and it came back to the table! Thankfully the manager deducted it from our bill but we won’t be returning

   Hi Linda, thank you for leaving your review, we always welcome constructive feed back. Our bread, oil & olives are a starter so we do not as a rule do chunky bread as it is for dipping. Our chefs hand make all our pies daily and they are super popular, having spoken to the Manager on Duty I understand that you enjoyed your tortellini and of course we would never want you to leave unhappy as we always try and resolve any issues so you can leave happy which is why we removed the pie from your bill. As you can see from our other reviews, food is one of the highlights of our pub and are sad to hear that you won't be returning.
