Taking hospitality back to its roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team breathing new life back into the heart of the community.
The menu will offer daily, hyper-seasonal specials, and plenty of British game, meat and fish. Executive chef and owner, Jamie Dobbin is passionate about local sourcing and traditional dishes, such as Half dozen Porthilly rock oysters with shallot dressing, Brixham King scallops with burnt butter cauliflower and caviar or Portland hogget Shepherd’s pie with grilled cutlet.
Serious meat lovers can expect 45 day aged native and rare breed steak on offer as well as a hero dish of Beef Wellington for two. Fish is of course wild, sustainable, and British, sourced from day boats on the South coast with the daily catch delivered straight to the door in a matter of hours. There is a handsome bar menu too, and as always, Sunday roasts are a big fixture on the menu every week.

    We had been to the Greyhound before. This time was our best experience. Nice cosy position on a very cold night. New menu that evening with really nice choices. Lovely friendly waitress. All round pleasant experience

    First visit to the Greyhound for over 50 years, when it was just a country pub , very pleasant surroundings and good food. We went on a Sunday and all had Sunday lunch and were particularly pleased to have the vegetables served separately. Will definitely visit again.

    High quality food and excellent wine selection, carefully selected from less obvious wine regions and varieties. Friendly, helpful but unobtrusive service. Recommended.

    We had a lovely meal. There was plenty of choices, the service was brilliant. and the food was simply superb, which is why we keep coming back.
