The Grill at Hacienda del Sol is one of Arizona's top restaurants located in a beautiful setting at the base of the Catalina Foothills. Breathtaking mountain and city views are captured from The Grill dining room where you will be treated to Spirited Southwestern Hospitality and a remarkable menu featuring local ingredients from the resort's own organic gardens, local purveyors, and growers.

The Grill wine list, with over 800 selections, was twice bestowed The Award of Ultimate Distinction by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and has been awarded the Best Of Award of Excellence; from Wine Spectator for 24 consecutive years.

We love Hacienda Del Sol and will return. However, we were there on Christmas Eve and it was disappointing. Our server, Angelo, was excellent and very personable. He couldn’t help it that the kitchen was slow. We were seated at 7:20 and our entrees arrived at 8:35. We also felt that the menu was very limited. The “prefixe” menu was very disappointing. It consisted of a choice of 2 appetizers (both involving cheese), only 3 or 4 main courses, and third course of a cheese plate and Sherry. Then there were only 3 ala carte items on the menu. The biggest disappointment was that they have replaced the delicious hot pepper chocolate truffles, that are always complimentary, with a tasteless brownie.

We love the ambiance at Hacienda, but the experience is always hit or miss. Tonight was a miss. 20 minutes passed from when we were seated to when our server asked for our drink order. Another 15 minutes passed before the bread service. I ordered the 3-course menu and the Brie “starter” was a wheel of Brie proportioned for 3 people. It was comical. Our mains were very good. Veggies and proteins cooked perfectly. Dessert was strange. Poor quality Sherry. Random pieces of cheese. Brittle was very good. Our server was either stretched thin or inefficient. We couldn’t figure it out.

This place is so beautiful and fun to visit. The food is decent, but the service was lacking. It could also stand to be cleaner.

The brunch was lovely as was the hostess and welcoming us. Our waiter was good but did not respond to our needs on a timely basis . It was busy so could of been that as a issue. Our guest had a complimentary champagne and we were charged as it was actually wine . Not an enjoyable day as we anticipated it to be as in the past.

There were 7 of us and food was very mixed. Cioppinos were extremely salty with seafood and pasta in it that was substandard. Even after notifying the waiter, the 2nd attempt seemed like some tomato broth was just added. Lobster and scallop risotto had very finely chopped pieces. The chef was very nice to come out to apologize, as did the F&B director. The restaurant and property is beautiful but for the cost of the items relative to other restaurants in town, overall food should be much better. Hope the food will be improved in the future.

Everything was wonderful from the waiter to the food. The one thing was that the food was served too slowly. Thank you for the great experience!
