Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

10 out of 10 experience. Highly recommend! We enjoyed an absolutely lovely setting on the terrace with attentive, friendly service. Delicious and beautifully prepared sandwiches and exquisite desserts! We enjoyed the upgraded Huntington Tea which included Prosecco, a lobster roll and a sumptuous little chocolate, cherry dessert. Everything came together beautifully for an absolutely lovely experience. We will definitely return.

They have made some changes to the tea menu & they aren’t very good. A ham & cheese sandwich doesn’t belong on a high tea menu & who want a baby lamb sandwich, NOT ME!!! The apple dessert was just ok, they need something chocolate! It was very disappointing, as I go frequently.

Underwhelming ! The food was below average and not worth it at all. Not to mention that you need to buy the entrance for the park on top

Glad to see they have changed up the tea menu a bit. New scones, nrw sandwiches. And new pastries. It should change seasonally. The music was a good addition.

We had a wonderful experience - it was a special occasion - a holiday date and we loved it. The food was delicious and filling; the teas were outstanding and the atmosphere was lovely. The service is good but a little stiff. We asked to light one of the heaters as it was getting cooler and our server was like - maybe - we are at the end of our service so perhaps not - they were still seating people so that was a bit rude. We did get it lit and it made the temperature much better. Not sure why she got like that - it made me think serving people is a bit annoying to her - should not have that attitude when this is a special occasion place and on the expensive side of things.

Lovely afternoon tea. We brought our 9-month old and they provided a high chair for her. If you bring a baby, make sure you count them as a person in your reservation. We did NOT have to purchase a tea package for her given she wouldn’t eat it, which was also nice.

The venue is beautiful and the tea is worth the price. There were four of us and we all ordered the traditional tea rather than the, more expensive, huntington tea option. Soup or salad is an additional cost, but the white bean and panchetta soup was delicious. There are alcohol and cocktail options as well. The aperol spritz were good if you like that drink. The tea selection was simple and every each tea we ordered was delicious. The tea pots were plain white and small but they will refill your tea pot with hot water a couple times. The scones, sandwiches, and sweets were mostly delicious and unique. Our one complaint is the ham and cheese sandwich was plain and dry. It didn't wow us like the lamb sandwich. We would prefer an egg sandwich or chicken salad sandwich instead. The James beard sandwich was an underwhelming mayo sandwich as well. The service was impeccable. Isaac was a great server. Isaac and other staff were thoughtful and preemptively met our needs. They provided a free slice of chocolate cake for a birthday as well. Overall, we had a great experience. I will definitely come back!

I love that they have a whole vegan menu, it was lovely and only this option made everything for me and my hubby

We had an amazing experience at the Rose Garden Tea Room. The tea and food were delicious, the surroundings are beautiful and the service was exceptional. We highly recommend this restaurant.
