Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

The whole experience was amazing. the rose aperol spritz was delicious. And the food was so wonderful. The service and staff are so kind and helpful, making sure your tea and food are just right. I can not wait to go back.

This is a wonderful tea house with two formal tea levels that include a variety of sandwiches, dainty desserts and delicious scones. There are wonderful "add-ons" like caviar, salads, soups and Prosecco. The wait staff is so professional and friendly. We have dined at the Huntington's Rose Garden Tea Room for years and always look forward to returning! A big "shout out" to Isaac who provided wonderful service!

We have always loved the afternoon tea experience here. Elevated and beautiful food in a wonderful setting… and the staff is always lovely! It’s just hard to get reservations.

Hostesses made it very clear (repeatedly) we would only have an hour and a half. There was an employee walking around watching. Not saying anything but on his phone looking at the tables. Was he timing us? It was very creepy. We were there an hour and 20 minutes, plenty of time for a lovely tea. But I did keep noticing this guy on the phone hanging around the edge of the space. Waiter tried to take food while there were still tarts. They need to figure out how to be less obtrusive about the timing issue.

At first they wanted us to sit by the fireplace, where the table is low (a coffee table) but we protested and they moved us to a real table. From there, everything was fantastic.

This was the second time I had tea at the Gardens. The first time we were a small party of 3 celebrating my sister's B-day in the March. This time we were a large party (of 10) for a day-after-Christmas party, after visiting the gardens. And though we were a big group, the staff kept our tea non-chaotic without feeling confining. The service was attentive without being invasive; the hot tea pots were kept filled with an assortment of delicious teas and each tea sandwich was seasonally exquisite and quietly delicious and different from those in March--except for the James Beard sandwich--which was a favorite at our table.
