Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

Everybody was lovely and accommodating. One of the members of our party has an allergy to garlic, and they were very accommodating to that as well. And her food was still delicious.

Dining room was under whelming. No flowers no ambiance. Outside tables looked better with views of the gardens. The tea sandwiches were not great. Overpriced.

Food is great, service has been improved but there is still room to be better. Very noisy. I think they should not allow kids younger than 3 to go because there was one who was super noisy and has no manners at all.

This place was beautiful and the service was spectacular. I’d say it’s a lil too pricey for what you get though. I’ve had high tea at other places that were around $30-$40 and had more stuff whereas this place (while yes it was good) was $64 per person for a few slices of bread, tarts, crumpets, and one tea selection. On top of that, you have to pay to get into the Huntington. I still rate it five stars cause it was a beautiful and calm experience, but again just a bit overpriced.

Lovely table in the Herb Garden room for our party of 4. Delicious scones, sandwiches and tarts, and one of the best jasmine teas I have tasted. Wonderful!

A very pleasant tea, in beautiful rooms, in a comfortable and welcoming setting. The teas the selves are excellent and the tea sandwiches, scones and tarts all delicious and of great quality. Warm and very accommodating service. Nice value too.

Outside dining is the best anywhere. I recommend the traditional tea as it is more than enough.

We were seated next to the kitchen at a table that was too large and not very intimate. This is a pricey experience and should be more polished.

My experience was disappointing. Despite a lovely setting and great service, I found all the food unacceptable. The tea was infused inside the pot. Not lose leaf poured over into the cup. So the tea was constantly steeping getting strong and bitter. Then the butters were strange. They weren't authentic double cream, clotted, or homemade. No lemon curd. The sandwiches were on dry bread with minimal filling and were mostly tasteless. The sweets were unremarkable. The price is way too much for the small low low-quality food. I loved the original afternoon tea. Sadly, with each incarnation, the charm and quality have fallen off sharply Will not return
