The Inn South Stainley - a uniquely independent cosy Yorkshire country pub with rooms offering a superior experience, great food, outstanding service and a truly memorable visit.

Our country pub and bar area is at the heart of The Inn which offers classic and contemporary interiors, relaxed seating and open fires. Enjoy country pub classic food dishes including daily specials and fine wines, cocktails, real ales and craft beer. Head Chef Shane White and his team have created a menu inspired by the seasons and resources and celebrates the amazing produce North Yorkshire has to offer.

We celebrate the regions finest produce and products, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, achieved with a smile and a traditional Yorkshire welcome for all.

Always our first choice for a Sunday roast. We have an Airbnb and we always recommend The Inn at South Stainley. Great food, great service. Super cosy.

Looked lovely inside with the Christmas decorations and all the staff looked smart as always We were shown to a seat in the bar by the windows but it was freezing so asked to move and ended up sitting in front of a door and window where again it was really cold so put up with it ! Asked for the fire to be stoked up next to us but were told it won’t get any hotter than it was ! All the staff were polite and helpful but the food let it down on this visit The turkey on the roast dinner was barely Luke warm and one of the roast dinners didn’t come with any mashed swede and cabbage The Christmas pudding was the tiniest piece ever known to man and was charged £8.50 for it ! And the jam roly poly was rock solid in the middle and we were refunded for that ! The tandoori chicken skewers were beautiful though The ice cream and cheesecake were nice also Shame really

Booked a family Christmas meal. Lovely atmosphere, helpful friendly staff and delicious food with generous portions. Second visit here and cannot fault anything. Will be back in 2025.

What a wonderful evening this was, from our initial arrival and being taken to our table, to our departure with a lovely send off from the staff, so polite and attentive throughout. We had the Christmas 4 course menu, which was absolutely amazing, we were all stuffed to the brim, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Made a great start to our Christmas celebrations x Been to The Inn many times now, but this was by far the best. Thank you to all the staff x

We took my 89 year old mother out for a festive celebration. The Inn is extremely comfortable, welcoming and offers a wide range of food, from snacks to elaborate main courses with all the trimmings. We intend to return for her 90th.

Wide choice on the menu, especially good value on the Christmas lunch 'deal'. Efficient and friendly service with very good starter and mains.

Went today for the first time. We both had the trio Sunday lunch, absolutely delicious. Service was excellent too, we will definitely return.
