The Jackdaw, Conwy

Jackdaw or Jac-do in Welsh, is the nickname given to a person born within the castle walls of Conwy town.
The name is taken from the bird which can be found nesting in the walls of the town and castle.

Within the walls of Conwy Castle lies The Jackdaw, a restaurant by Nick Rudge.
Providing a unique Welsh Tasting Menu on Tuesday to Saturday evenings and 'The Nest', a reduced 4 course lunch Tasting Menu on Friday and Saturdays.

The Nest is a 4 course lunch menu priced at £35 per person in The Jackdaw, Conwy. We would love to welcome you on Friday and Saturday lunches between 12pm and 3pm. With delicious food and lots of wonderful wines by the glass, our menu changes very regularly, similarly to The Jackdaw's ethos the menu will change with the seasons around us! It was our first time dining at the restaurant, such an amazing experience! Never tasted food like it before and customer service was impeccable.

We were recommended The Jackdaw. Fabulous restaurant. Full the evening we went with lots of chatter. Food was gorgeous each plate delicious. Manager was very knowledgeable about wines and helped me choose my wine selection. My husband had the wine pairing which he said was a great compliment to each course. We will definitely go back.

Taster menu is now your only choice, this is why we went and are pleased to say that the we were pleasantly surprised by how much the quality had improved.

Had a wonderful evening celebrating my husbands birthday at the Jackdaw. The food was excellent, service was attentive without being obtrusive with a nice buzzy atmosphere.

A real treat. A chance to indulge in a beautifully cooked and prepared tasting menu, in a lovely atmosphere with excellent table service. We felt spoiled!

A tasting experience with a winter theme . A unique and delicious treat for a special occasion or for each season. We tried food we would not normally order and enjoyed it all . The manager/sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. He made the evening. The decor was lovely too .

My husband and I had the winter tasting menu, it was really brilliantly done. Very rich and hearty given it was also very dainty and beautiful. Highly recommend. The service is sublime, the sommelier/Front of house manager Gareth was honestly one of the best parts of our evening, a skilled pro. Timings of the courses was excellent and we just had a wonderful time. Adored the commitment to the Welsh narrative and produce in everything they do here.
