   Breakfast was delicious. Beautiful dining area with toasty fireplace and magnificent view of the bay.

   AMAZING views!!!! Absolutely breathtaking. Food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary except delicious bacon, but we only had breakfast. I would have given 5 stars but service was quite unfriendly. This detracted from the experience.

   Fantastic date night with my wife. The view and ambiance were spectacular, the service was warm and inviting, and the food hit the sweet spot between elevated, locally sourced, and imaginative, and delicious “comfort food” vibes. 100% nailed it on all fronts.

   The Waiting Room is more like it. Showed up at 6:45 for 7pm reservations on Valentines Day. They were slammed. Host said we would be seated at 7:15. We were seated at 7:30. By 7:45 the waiter hasn’t even taken our order. We left.

   We've been coming to the 4th floor restaurant for 20+ years and this iteration is wonderful. It feels warm and inviting, always a good view of the ocean, and the new menu is excellent. We had brunch on a weekday--started with a La Fayette cinna roll that was soo good. Good strong coffee from a local vendor (Cpt and Stoker). My eggs bennie were perfect and the wait staff was attentive but not hovering. They covered for each other and food was brought out hot and tasty. Really a very nice experience and we're so grateful to live in beautiful Monterey!

   We stayed at the Monterey Beach Hotel and initially chose the Lantern Room for ease of use so we didn't have to drive anywhere after a long day of exploring the area. Our expectations were about average for a hotel restaurant. Thankfully, our expectations were far exceeded. The food, service, atmosphere were all at a caliber much higher than we anticipated. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food beautifully prepared and presented, the ingredients of a quality you'd expect from a very high end restaurant and to top it off- a great view of the ocean. We ended up eating breakfast and dinner there each day of our stay. Outstanding.

    Great view of beavh&ocean. The noise level was deafening! Lots of pleasant staff asking to help. Being served took a very long time and food was just warm. I ordered short ribs (I think $35.) which would normally be well done and melty tender ~ these were still pink and tough. We had waited so long when the waiter eventually asked how was the meal I just said, “fine”. Again, the waiter staff were very nice , the noise and mediocre food were not their fault‼️ Very disappointing; will not return &/or recommend.😵‍💫
